Top 5 Crestview FL Restaurants

So, you're moving to or visiting Crestview, Florida and you're curious, what are the top 5 restaurants that I should go visit when I'm in this area? Well in this video, we went over and got those top five for you and add an added bonus for you. We also added one extra little tidbit that you should know about eating in Crestview.

So, let's get into it. Let's talk about Crestview. Now, if you're curious about moving to Crestview and why that may be advantageous to you. Well, I got a couple of tidbits of why this might be good.

Alright, first things first is Crestview has got the best housing affordabilityThis is a real estate channel, so I guess we got to talk a little bit about real estate. It's got some of the best housing affordability, the median price when we last looked at it was around $225,000 which is pretty darn good in our area. If you want to look that across the national average, it's like $217,500. So it's really not that bad, really good actually for Florida. You've got those newer houses, bigger lots, all sorts of great things for the housing in this area. Not only that, but Crestview if you haven't seen our other videos before on kind of the history of this area, it's actually called the Hub City. And it's because that's where the rivers, the roadways, and everything came through for all the different types of trade and whatnot. So, because of that, it's got access to where you want to go. So if you want to go down Route 85 to get down into Fort Walton Beach-Destin or if you want to take I-10 and head over to Tallahassee or over there to Pensacola or mobile. Like you have all these options in right there and you don't have to go around all the water and things like that. So it's really, really nice. Not only that, if you're a military guy or gal or family coming to this area and you want a quick access to say Eglin Air Force Base or Duke Field, or if you're part of the 7th group like, this is a great place to go because it's right there and it's not that long of a trip. Plus you have great houses here.

Okay, enough about the real estate side. You wanted to know more about the wonderful restaurants that we had here. Now, there were a ton to choose from, and as you go through and research them and I did my own personal research by going to these restaurants. You'll see that a lot of them, there's some chain restaurants out there and I did not include that in there because I wanted this to be more authentic for you guys and what the best ones are in their perspective categories. So, with that being said, let's go down the list now.

 1. Emerald Isle Seafood Restaurant & Market

In no particular order, let's go on to number one, which is the Emerald Isle Seafood Restaurant & Market. If you haven't been there, you can't miss this. Going down Route 85, you're going to see this big old green roof. Again, It's located if you're going north is going to be a left side over there off of Route 85. It's arguably the best seafood in Crestview. It just really is. It's actually with my personal research with some of the best crawfish that I've ever had in this area. So if you like crawfish definitely check it out. The staff appeared to be really just going out of their way to make you feel welcome, and it's really good spot, really open atmosphere to go check out in there. Most of the time, it's got a crowd in there depending on where you're going, but definitely, a great place to go.

 2. The Wild Olive

Now, I didn't know this place existed. I've lived here since 2012. So, it wasn't until I was doing my research and talking to some other people that we've helped move up in Crestview that they're talking about this place. Now, it's actually located on the north side of downtown Crestview and it's like a quaint little place is probably the best-kept secret in Crestview because I think the locals just want it for themselves. It's really got this really homey kind of atmosphere, which I think is what they're kind of going off to be like, hey, take a seat in our expanded kitchen as tons of tables and seats everywhere. They've got some really nice Decor. The atmosphere is really good. You can go there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Now, I've had their lunch and I've had their dinner, but I haven't had the breakfast, but from all the pictures that I saw and all the feedback that I've gotten from people, fantastic to go, check out this place. Fresh ingredients. The duck was really, really good if you like that. But definitely go check that out and you're going to have to Google it to go find it. Again, The Wild Olive.

 3. Hub City Smokehouse and Grill

See, there's that word Hub City again. Alright, this is right downtown off of Main Street. It's some of the best barbecue in the Crestview area and in my personal opinion. The pulled pork is on point. The service was great. The size were pretty big portions as well, service was pretty good. It was crowded when I went in there, but it just seems like that place is always kind of crowded, especially during dinner time on the weekend. Yeah, okay, but going in there, a very lively atmosphere seemed to be set up really well. And definitely awesome, awesome barbecue.

 4. Bamboo Sushi & Hibachi Express

Now, this isn't the only one, but this was the Crestview location. I've been to a couple of others. There are two others, I believe it's in Niceville and the others in Fort Walton Beach, but definitely really, really good. This one, in particular, you wouldn't know it was there unless, well, you Google it or you saw this video. It's located on the strip mall right next to the Bells Outlet. So going north, you know, you kind of go by Starbucks and it's kind of right over there. Once you do, you're not going to want to miss this place if you like sushi. And I just couldn't leave this place out because it's phenomenal. They've got big portions, they've got fresh food, again excellent service. That was a big pushing point for me. It was awarded actually the finest on the Emerald Coast. So they have these things that come out every year. It's posted in a magazine and they still do magazines, but it was been posted in there a lot for some of the finest dining specially in Crestview and on the Emerald Coast. And it's been in there several times. People swore by now. I'm not huge on sushi, but all my friends have told me that they swore by this thing they call the King Kong roll. So, if you're in there, definitely check that out. That's something you won't want to miss and you can add your reviews online. Whatever.

 5. La Rumba

The last one I have for you is La Rumba. Hopefully, I said that correctly. And this one is our Mexican place of choice, is located just south of I-10 and Route 85 near that on off-ramp. You know, we're traffic gets pretty crazy right there. Well, this place in particular, it's kind of looks like it's off on the hill there. And food comes out pretty fast. It's very delicious. The prices are really great. That's what seems to be keeping a lot of locals coming back. They do have a competitor called the Aztec, which is in the northern part of town. And this one just happened to be better. And since I gotta write this, this is the one I chose. If you do go in there, it does have a really lively atmosphere. What you would expect for a really good Mexican place. They keep it lively by doing two-for-one margaritas. So, if you like margaritas, definitely jump in here, maybe Uber there, I don't know. But definitely if you want to try something, try the watermelon one that they have. It's actually really good. Even if you're not a big watermelon fan, it's pretty awesome. But this place is super fun. Great atmosphere, definitely place to go check out. Indulge yourself on some chips and salsa and get some authentic Mexican food and a great atmosphere.

Alright, so I told you I got one other bonus here and I said it was going to mention like chain restaurants of fast foods, but I have to. They put up a few years ago with Chick-fil-A in here. Yeah, okay, Chick-fil-A. It's the biggest one. It's huge. It's one of the biggest ones in the entire Okaloosa County. And I did all my research on this to see if that was true, and it absolutely is the thing that is enormous out there. And people love their Chick-fil-A. I'm one of those people as well. So, if you want to visit the biggest one, head in through the Hub City their Crestview and you've got yourself a deal. Some sort of a deal.
