7 Things To Do at Destin Commons Without Shopping  [Things To Do in Destin Florida ]

So, you're moving to or visiting Destin, and you're curious of, what else can I do that isn't necessarily shopping? You know, maybe we're kind of worn out at the beach and all the other things. What else can we do? Now, we probably know the services really nice outdoor mall called the Destin Commons. What else can we do there? Well, in this video, we're going to go over the seven things to do with the Destin Commons that doesn't involve shopping. So, stick around.

Alright. Let's get into it. Let's talk about things to do. Right? What are the things to do? The seven things that you can do at the Destin Commons. So, if you don't know where this is at, if you come on through the toll bridge that goes through Niceville, Freeport area, as soon as you dump down into that big, by that big marina that's got the huge flag on it, it's going to be right down there to the left. You're coming down Highway 98, it's that huge complex that you're going to see where it's got the Whole Foods just outside of it, the Bass Pro, all sorts of cool stuff. So, if you're not shopping and you're coming through this area and you're just kind of walking around, it is an outdoor mall, which is beautiful when we got this weather. Right? And, there are plenty of places to walk around and not necessarily shop. But if you want a little something different, then you're not the shopper of the couple or the people that have gone on vacation or just all around. Here's some things that you can do.

1. GREAT MOVIE THEATER

Number one on the list is they have a great movie theater. So, you can go watch any of the new movies that had come out. They have an AMC Theatre. It's got a bunch of different screens out there. Heck, if it wasn't too far away, I'd normally go out to that, that specific movie theater myself. But, it is really nice and kind of one other thing to do.

2. GRAB A CUP OF COFFEE

You can grab some coffee. Right outside of that area, they do have Starbucks. There is a little bit of an outdoor seating area, inside's a little bit small. And, if you come from a place, that, you know, is a little bit more rainy. Well, I guess it depends on the season. Right? But if you come from some place like that sort of little bit more cold, we just don't seem to have the big coffee places that you can go down and relax and there's lots of room for you to relax for. I know I came from that. I came from New York and, you know, in the military bouncing all around. There were some great coffee houses. You could just hang out and relax and there was plenty of room. Here, not so much. It's more of a grab and go sort of thing. Now, if you are going into this location, there is a small area to kind of sit down a couple of tables. But, there's more seating outside than there is inside. So, maybe depending on the season, we want to grab an iced coffee and sit outside. If that's not your style, you can take it and walk around and do a little bit of mall walking. Even though it's not inside, it'll be outside enjoying weather. So, grabbing a coffee, number two. Alright.

3. BOWLING

Yeah, there's a bowling alley in there too. It's meshed with Uncle Bucks Fishbowl is what it's called. It's not the top of the line sort of bowling. If you want that head across the street, there's another bowling alley across the way. But, top of the line is also kind of a stretch. But you get what I'm saying. This one's more family friendly. It's got the theme, fishbowl theme throughout there. There is a restaurant that is attached to that. So, it's really a lot of fun for you in family to go, do something a little bit different than spending money and, you know, if you're visiting, packing up your suitcases.

4. GRAB A CRAFT BEER

One of my favorites going in there is, grab a delicious craft beer. That's right. So, world of beer is the primary part there. There's a couple other restaurants that do serve in there. But World of Beer is the main focal point of that. Now, honestly, I used to work at a World of Beer as a bartender back in Albany, New York, and that was several several years ago. Actually, it's longer than I think, anyway. This is a really nice culture they've gotten there. There are over fifty craft beers on tap. So, if you like that, that's something to go check out. They got a really nice outdoor area. Most of it's usually open air even inside, so they have a nice little patio that you can go out with. There's usually, well, there is tons of screens in there too, if you want to go and check out during sports time frame, whatever what you want to watch in there. But really nice atmosphere to go out and have a couple of delicious libations while you're in there. Now one of the things that is really interesting about this place is, most world of beer locations do have the beers that you kind of pump, you know, so cast beers is what they're called. Definitely try some of those and they also make some mixed craft beers too, which is kind of interesting. So, if you're into that, definitely go check that out. Alright.

5. ART AND GAMES FOR KIDS

You can check out some art that's actually painted all around here. There's little statues and games and things that you can check out mainly for the kids. But, you know, your child at heart. But you could definitely check out some of the art. There's some world-renowned artists and some local artists that have put in some really, really nice things throughout here. The Commons is home to the area's lucky climber. Now this was the kid thing I was talking about. It's a climbing structure that allows kids to interact with other children while they're out there, while problem solving and kind of thinking throughout these sorts of things. So, it's kind of cool for the kids to go check out, and you can kind of watch them try to figure that out too. It's kind of funny. Alright.

6. DELICIOUS TREATS/SWEETS

You can grab some delicious treats or sweets whenever you're into here. There is a handful of different ones that are throughout there. I know it's not really shopping, but, you know, give me a break here. But they have destination little doughnuts, which is literally little doughnuts and pastries that you can go check out. Its sugar is another place to go with, well, Guess what? Sugar. They have kill winds and snowblits, snow cones, essentially. Just to name a few that are out there. But they're nice little locations all throughout.

7. SPLASH PADS

And last but not least, number seven, mainly for the kids, they have a splash pad. So, if you go into the main part of the Commons and you head all the way back there to where the AMC Theatre is, pending the weather being good. There's a splash bag for the kids to go out and go around to burn off some energy, you know, soaking wet and play with all the water spouts and things like that. And you can get them all worn out so you can, you know, enjoy the rest of the evening, just kidding. But, yes, it's actually really cool. There's a lot of different things for the kids to do and interact. And, it's kind of entertaining either way just kind of sitting and watching everybody go.

But, that is all that I do have for you for the seven things to do at the Destin Commons. There are also other things besides your regular shopping that you're going to have in there. Again, we have that big bass pro. There's a bunch of other different shops throughout. You do have Whole Foods there, especially if you're living in this area or visiting and you want something from there. One thing to check out is all the restaurants. I guess I have eight, but all the different restaurants that are throughout the Destin Commons and out through there. If you haven't been to a Whole Foods and actually gone to where they actually, you know, have some food set out for consumption right then and there, definitely check that out. Their pizza is actually pretty good. Now, I'm from New York and I'm definitely picky when it comes to pizza. But the ones that they have there is actually pretty good. There are a handful of different pizza places to check out. If you're coming to the Destin area, I know where all the spots are.
