5 Facts About Alys Beach
5 Facts About Alys Beach
So, you're thinking about moving or investing into Alys Beach in Santa Rosa Beach on 30A. And you're wondering, what are some things I need to know about this area? Well, in this video, we're going to go over the 5 facts that you might need to know while considering making that move. So, stick around.
So, let's talk about Alys Beach. First things first, where is it? Right? So, Alys Beach is located more on the eastern side of the 30A stretch, right, as highway 30A, in the Santa Rosa Beach area. And, if you haven't driven through there, it's pretty evident when you to actually get there. Once you start to actually go into, so say you're coming from Panama City Beach, you'll go through Rosemary, and then hit, you're going to see these big, what they call, butt trees on each side. And, you're going to go in and it's just going to be this gorgeous, gorgeous town that you're going to go into. Now, if you're traveling actually from the west, it'll look like you're going through a whole bunch of the forest, so to speak, with a little bit of beach on the side and then boom. It just arrives, like, where did this come from? But, absolutely gorgeous area that we're going to talk about today.
Now, Alys Beach is actually a 158-acre town, but currently it's only halfway built at the time of this video which is 2022. They say that once it's actually completed, that is going to overtake the size of Seaside. If you're familiar with the area, what that looks like, which is pretty interesting. Especially, considering that when they decided to purchase this area a while ago when this was widely undeveloped. The person that ended up doing this, the business owner actually treated this as an employee retreat. And, then it just burst into what it is today. So, we're going to go over the five different things and facts about Alys Beach so you just get an idea of what this is all about.
1. ARHITECTURE
We're going to talk about the architecture. Now, as I mentioned before, there's also butt trees at each end of either entrance, exit up where you're actually coming into this town. Interestingly enough, these are actually filled with lots of art about how the town was actually created. And a lot of history throughout ever since they started this area, which is cool. It's definitely out there open to the public for you to go ahead and check out. Now, as you approach into this town, as you go into it, you almost have to kind of slow down just to kind of take it all in. As you enter through there, you're just going to notice all the different types of architecture through there, which is completely different than anything that you're going to see on there. Now, my time in the air force, we traveled all around the world, and some of which were I would go out to the Mediterranean. But first time, I went through this area, I was like, man, it looks like Greece. It looks like a lot of these different places that we had been through. But, it definitely has a lot of the shape that Bermuda kind of has that Bermuda style, as well as Mediterranean. We're talking Morocco, Greece, Lebanon, all those different influences are all kind of combined into one, into this entire area. And you'll notice because everything's kind of whitewashed around there and it kind of has the same sort of unique look to it. There's also a ton of private outdoor spaces. Which are, kind of shuttered in. So, if you've ever kind of gone by them and you kind of look through and you can kind of see what's in there, and it's gated, you're like, oh, there's something really cool in there, but I can't get to it. That's a lot of the different areas that they have through the entire town over at Alys Beach.
2. WALKABILITY
That was one of the things that they had designed this entire place about. Is making sure that everything kind of had this walkability and there was a desire to do so. It's very, very unique how everything is kind of set up. And due to the setbacks that they have with building a lot of these different structures. It allows this area to be very friendly and have a lot in very good walkability throughout. Now, interestingly enough, when homes are built in this report, they're actually required to gift the community to something. Now, that could be really anything. It could be some unique art that is outside, it could be some fountains, it could be even a bench, you know? That's part of the house that people can sit at. And it really gets a very unique experience as you're walking through the community and just kind of seeing all this and taking it all in.
3. BUILT LIKE A FORTRESS
The entire area is kind of built like a fortress. Now, with my military background, that's exactly where I went to as I'm looking around at all these different things. Now, what you're going to see is these beautifully built white villas and customs homes. They're all concrete walls, concrete rooftops, which, you know, as a real estate person, it's pretty nice. It's like 50-year-old or has a lifespan of like, 50 years. It's got iron rebar reinforcements in there, and it even has a lot of those shatterproof windows. So, the entire town cannot only handle those occasional tropical storms that come through, but they're also going to be able to last the test of time and be there for quite some time. Alright.
4. GREEN SPACES
One of the things that really attracts me to this town besides having all of the different white Mediterranean, it just reminds me being in Greece. Although white Mediterranean kind of looks around. The thing that kind of separates those two from those areas in Europe is just the beautiful green spaces that they have throughout this area. I'll kind of touch on most of them if I can, hopefully I'll pronounced them all correctly. The one that you're going to notice first is, when you get into the city center, downtown area, and you're going to see an amphitheater that it is in there. It's a family friendly amphitheater. Everything kind of starts and starts to build out from that area. And that's just north of Highway 98. Now, as you walk around the community, there's tons of different places to go check out and it's really unique in its own right. We have Central Park and we have Firepit Park, we have Fonville park. And the Fonville park is more for kids, they really love that area, I mean adults do too, but they really like that. You also have the Gulf Green area, which is very, very nice and very popular. Why? Because it actually gives you the beach access down there to the beautiful gulf waters, the Emerald Color waters. Of course, you have Kelly Green, you have Palmera Park, Papilio Park, (hopefully I said that right) Turtle Bale Spring and Lake Marilyn, just to name a few. I'm sure I probably left a couple out, but that's the once I can remember. Some other ones on top of that that's really impressive is, they also have a 20-acre nature preserve. Now, that's located on the northern end of Alys Beach, and it's not necessarily you need to, you know, get some nice hiking boots on and go throughout this area with long pants. Not necessarily, it is actually a 1,800 foot elevated trail, which actually gives you views of the wildlife below, gives you kind of a nice vantage point to go through there and walkthrough and check out. There's just the beauty that is in the 30A in Santa Rosa Beach area. Just absolutely immaculate area. Actually, at the time of this video is closed, so we didn't get any video of that. But, it was, it is absolutely gorgeous if you get some time to go check that out.
5. LOTS TO DO
Alright. Last but not least, is there's lots to do in this town. And I won't bore you with everything, but I will give you some idea of what's able to go on in there. There are just some great shops. You've got boutiques. There are some fine dining restaurants that you're going to have there. Some just beautiful pools. You have a private Gulf Beach Club. You also have the Zuma Wellness Center that's out there too. And, just to name a couple of events off the top of my head here, you have the 30A wine festival, the digital graffiti, which is pretty cool because they just, because everything's kind of whitewashed. Right? It can actually put out different sorts of digitally projected graffiti on all the walls for the that art display. Of course, you have the Alys Beach Crafted, and there's a lot more there, but those are the most prevalent ones that I can think of.
But, that's what you have for Alys Beach and the 5 facts about Alys Beach. If you have any questions about anything that I have mentioned here, please feel free to call/text us at 850.320.7757 or email us at Admin@WhittemoreGroupRE.com
